Analysis for Chapter 5- Quote #1

"Why do you got to get killed? You ain't so little as mice. I didn't bounce you hard... Now maybe George ain't gonna let me tend no rabbits if he fin's out you got killed."

     At the beginning of Chapter 5, Lennie is alone in the barn talking to the dead puppy that he accidentally killed. This quote really shows a lot about Lennie's character, especially how he can't comprehend what happened. It truely shows Lennie's lack of maturity. Some people could see this as foreshadowing for the death of Curley's wife.
